Senior Accountant
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will perform and manage recurring daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and financial planning activities in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring appropriate financial controls and compliance with GAAP. This person will be detail oriented, dedicated and embrace the challenges a fast-growing organization brings.
Responsibilities:
● Review, enter, & monitor various general ledger transactions and journal entries to ensure timely entry, accurate accounting treatment, and compliance with GAAP; ● Perform monthly close duties to include preparing journal entries, variance reporting, reconciliations, and account analyses; ● Prepare, manage, and update financial projections, quarterly business plans, and departmental budgets; ● Assist with accurate and timely review and analysis of financial statements/reports; ● Instruct and drive all balance sheet reconciliations; ● Manage billing and collection processes; ● Oversee the accounts payable function; ● Oversee and manage all fixed assets including policy, tracking, depreciation, and applicable bank & lender correspondence; ● Collaborate with external firms for tax estimate calculations and payments;
● Provide excellent customer service & collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; ● Identify, research, and advise the team regarding new and/or non-recurring transactions in accordance with GAAP; ● Provide information to outside tax preparers, auditors, and state agencies to prepare annual and quarterly federal and state returns, and audits; ● Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to identify and take on new responsibilities and assignments; ● Proactively identify and suggest recommendations for improving accounting processes, procedures, controls, and systems; ● Other duties and special projects as assigned
What We're Looking For: ● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA or CPA a plus ● 5+ years of related experience in a fast paced dynamic accounting or SaaS technology environment, with experience in public accounting a plus ● Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in Excel and a proactive approach to learning new systems ● The ideal candidate would have experience with Bill.com, Stripe, and SalesForce ● Ability to be a great teammate ● Great communication and interpersonal skills ● Demonstrated ability to lead/assist others ● Great organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
